HE/SHE #8, 2013

KP (upper photograph) We spent the last few days exploring the splendid geology of the Canadian Shield. This rock face, decorated with colourful bursts of autumn sumac, brought to mind the fallen ruins of an ancient civilization.
LM (lower photograph)We drove by Raby Lake any number of times this week, but only stopped for a brief "drive-by shooting" when we saw a colourful fern. An hour later, the fern had been forgotten as the textures and colours of the lily pads and marsh plants had been worked through visually in numerous combinations and permutations. Lesson: photograph what ELSE is there.
