PROJECTS - COMPLETED
THE PHOTO PROJECTS
Brooks Jensen, the photographic philosopher and publisher of LENSWORK, is a longtime advocate of creating a body of work based on the visual exploration of a very specific subject. The point, as he sees it, is that concentrating attention on a defined project gets the photographic cliches out of the way early on and encourages creative seeing. Instead of a "greatest hits' approach, the portfolio that results from an intense focus on a defined photographic exploration tells a more interesting and in-depth story.
With that in mind, we have created this "PROJECT" portfolio that gathers together images on subjects that we find ourselves returning to again and again, over a long period of time. These projects are open-ended - we will keep adding new work to each project portfolio. Click on the title of each project to open its gallery and read a brief description of our thoughts about it.
Larry's 52 week project on Long Point is now complete and he has published the resulting collection of photographs as a book titled "A Year in the Life of Long Point". The book is available in hard cover, soft cover, and e-book formats. You can leaf through it here:
