This is my second volume of images (2022) from our annual rental cottage on the shore of Georgian Bay on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. It celebrates the big sky, crystal clear water, shelf rocks and endlessly fascinating play of light on water in a location close to our hearts
Dyers Bay-Recent Photographs

This book project (2020) gathers together a group of abstract close-up images made from the surface of our artist friend Vicki Easton's patina-rich work table. Her "30 years of oooops" work surface stimulated my visual imagination. Parts of this portfolio were published with commentary in issue #125 of LensWork Extended.

Over a period of 15 years, Larry has photographed McLean's Auto Wrecking Yard in Rockland, Ontario in the spring and fall. This book (2018 )collects his best images from this long-term project.
The Yard
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This book gathers together images taken from 2010-2018. It celebrates what remains of the historic Tobacco growing culture of Norfolk County. The "serene melancholy of impermanence" described by the Japanese aesthetic concept of Wabi-sabi has guided my approach to this project. Images from this collection have appeared in solo shows at Lynnwood Arts in Simcoe, The Delhi Tobacco Museum in Delhi, and been published in LensWork Online.

This Zine contains a smaller selection of images from my larger book project "Tobacco Kilns of Norfolk County" at a more economical price point.

This joint book of photographs by Kathy and Larry was published in 2015. An exhibition of images from the book was held at the Norfolk Arts Centre in Simcoe. "It's a truism in photography that the best work is an expression of the geography of home. The images in this book express our knowledge of and our joy in sharing the visual pleasures of Norfolk County. Hereabouts."
Hereabouts

Published in 2012, this book celebrates in photographs a special landscape close to home. The preface by Michael Bradstreet--"For me, Long Point is a duet of sand and water and an amalgam of habitats, wildlife, people and sky".

For this joint book project, Kathy and I have gathered 25 of our favourite photographs each from 2019 presented chronologically with a brief text accompanying each image.

This project (2024) gathers together a selection of my photographs made in our home patch of Norfolk County, Ontario over the last few years on the theme of "stillness'. I have used Japanese kanji and haiku throughout the book to complement the images.

In 2022 and again in 2024, a family of Eastern Red Foxes visited our yard in Port Ryerse over a few days in spring and winter. The photographs in this Zine celebrate this chance encounter with gratitude.

This book continues our project of gathering together our favourite 25 photos each from 2020 with a brief accompanying text. Nature and photo excursions close to home have been life savers in a pandemic year when social distancing was the order of the day.

This Zine showcases a small group of images from our larger book project "Ice Huts of Norfolk County" in a more economical format.
Ice Huts of Norfolk County
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout the ice hut fishing season from December to March, there is a to-ing and fro-ing of people on foot, snowmobiles and ATV's heading off shore. These scenes of folks enjoying winter on the ice of Lake Erie in Norfolk County lure us out with our cameras to enjoy the pleasures of the cold months in our own way.
Ice Huts of Norfolk County

This 2022 book completes a long term photo project. In anticipation of the seasonal gales of winter, sand fences are erected on the beach of Long Point village. Cottage owners know that without these makeshift barriers, they may well find their seasonal retreats engulfed in wind-generated dunes come spring. This project resulted in a major exhibition at Lynnwood Arts in Simcoe in 2022 entitled "On The Fence".
Sand Fences of Long Point Beach

Once uncommon in Norfolk County, Sandhill crane numbers have increased dramatically over the last decade. These striking birds arrive in the Long Point area in late fall and, if winters are mild, remain until March. Their significant numbers have enriched the soundscape of the area and their visual presence in our rural landscape has become iconic. This Zine collects my favourite photographs of these birds in habitat over many years.

This book gathers together in a visual diary, 25 each of our favourite photos from 2021 with brief texts for each image. As the pandemic continued, nature close to home has been our solace and inspiration in uncertain times.

"For the past year (2013), Larry has explored the Long Point landscape once a week. The images reveal much about the tenuous balance between the dynamic forces that have created Long Point and the ephemeral nature of its existence".
A Year In The Life Of Long Point
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the great pleasures of living in Norfolk County is the seasonal migration of birds. This Zine is a tightly curated collection of bird images made close to home in an economical format.
Bird Migration--A Norfolk County Spectacle

The photographic essayist Guy Tal believes that personal photographic imagery only arises from deeply meaningful experiences in the landscape. As this book (2016) suggests, we seek out the cold, the wind, the snow, the isolation and the quiet of Long Point in the season shunned by most. An exhibition of images from this project was shown at Gallery 29 in Port Dover.
Seldom Seen--Winter In Long Point

My first collection of bird photographs (2019), this book celebrates the visual wonder I've experienced photographing birds over the years in my local patch of Norfolk County.
My Book of Birds--Volume 1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This book (2018) is my first collection of images made from our annual rental cottage on Dyers Bay on the shores of Georgian Bay on the Bruce Peninsula. Spanning the years 2009-2018, the photographs are a visual journal that spans a decade of observing and being inspired and moved by the natural wonder that is Dyers Bay.
Dyers Den--A Decade of Photographs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of my first 52 week projects, this book (2013) is a result of turning my eyes on trees. At home and away, I've gathered one new image per week with brief accompanying text over the course of 12 months on a commonplace but visually fascinating subject.
