THE WRECKING YARD PROJECT
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been allowed unlimited access to a huge automotive wrecking yard within a reasonable drive from home. Thanks, Doug! Thanks, John!
This long term, joint project involves photographing extreme close-ups of rusting junkers with an eye to creating abstract images. For the most part, we are careful to avoid any hint of scale or sense of place in our images.
As our mentor and teacher, Freeman Patterson, advises: "Don't ask what it is. Ask 'Does it work' in terms of visual design". We completely agree.
