HE/SHE #38, 2015 - HE SAW- SHE SAW
KP(left) While others went off to explore the terrain towards the interior of the island I stayed put near the shore. As I faced towards the setting sun the rock face in front of me was thrown into shadow; but, to my surprise, the light reflected from the still-illuminated rock behind me cast a lovely glow onto the rock's surface. It came to me that the light had the same special warm and open quality as that in the slot canyons of the American Southwest.

LM(right)In the late afternoon on a quiet back inlet along the shores of Franklin Island, I noticed how the warm light bounced off of the still water onto the adjacent rock face. The reflected light created lines of horizontal golden patterns on the lower sections of the intricate shadowed blue rock cliff.
