KP(left) Yesterday, due to a shift in wind direction, Lake Erie retreated as if it was pretending to be tidal. As the water pulled back it left behind a rhythmic trail of ripples in the sand.
LM(right) Because the water level on Hastings beach was way down the other day, I was able to walk out a considerable distance on the sand bar. Looking back towards shore, I saw that the reflection of the roadside cottonwood trees was broken into visual bands by sand ripples and scattered pools of water.
