LM (left) This image is about implied motion. Recent wind storms have buffeted freshly emerged spring grasses. Their motion over time has etched semicircular patterns in the sand, corresponding to the position and length of the grass. Recent rain has darkened the wear facets which are somewhat deeper than the surrounding sand.

KP(right) I thought, mistakenly, that I had finished shooting for the evening as we made our way from the beach to the car. This year the park has defined the paths over the dunes with “carpets” of open mesh in an attempt to limit erosion. I was struck by the graphic pattern of the mesh, already partially covered by blowing sand and just had to take one more shot.
