HE/SHE #14, 2013 - HE SAW- SHE SAW
LM (upper photo) The dunes that demarcate the sand beach at Huntington State Park act as a visual line, dividing the warm-hued sand from the cooler sky. The complex swirl of clouds in this image echo the breakers and turbulent pattern of ocean waves that are at the heart of South Carolina's Atlantic coast.

KP (lower photo) Huntington State Park is host to many shorebirds; but, my favourite is the Sanderling, tiny perpetual motion machines, running in and out of the waves, in search of buried invertebrates. Rather than attempting to stop the action of the birds, I panned with the camera to capture the restless energy of the small flock on its never-ending quest for food.
