HE/SHE #28, 2015 - HE SAW- SHE SAW
LM(upper) I returned to this scene three or four times over a two week period trying out various compositions. It finally occurred to me that including the curved tree trunk was not obvious, but essential.

KP(lower) We arrived at Cabot Head on a foggy afternoon to discover a family of sandhill cranes very close to where we parked. I exited the car quietly but with little hope of actually being able to photograph these usually cautious birds. To my surprise the cranes weren't anxious and, taking their time, slowly wandered to the back of the field with their chick. I realized later that the fog had acted as a blind, obscuring our shapes enough to minimize any disturbance caused by our presence.
