KP (upper) On this evening it looked like sunset would be unremarkable. The sky was clear blue. Not a cloud in sight… until this one appeared, seemingly out of nowhere.

LM(lower)The visually interesting shape of these particular clouds sent me scurrying down to the shore. I scrambled to come up with a composition where the rocks would echo the clouds and direct the viewer's attention through the water towards the sky. In situations like this, it really helps to be intimately familiar with the lie of the land, since cloud forms can be very ephemeral.
