SAND FENCE AND SHADOW ON SNOW - LONG POINT BEACH

photograph by larry monczkaFrom past experience, I knew that a wind-still sunny day after a big snowstorm could produce interesting shadows shortly after sunrise from the sand fences along long point beach. With that in mind, I got up early on a frigid winter morning and drove down to the beach. Luckily for me, I was the first person dumb enough to trudge over the dunes and onto the beach through the deep snow-- so there were no distracting footprints to mar the fresh pristine drifts. I have never been as cold, but it was worth it.
