LM(top) The first leaves that emerge from Cottonwood trees in spring are surprisingly colourful in their early phase. High water along the Lake Erie shore in Norfolk County has uprooted some trees, putting the spring foliage within reach.

KP(bottom)A battered tree trunk, tossed by storms up onto the shore of Lake Erie, has been deeply saturated by recent rain. The stones that have collected in its irregularities, once also dark with rain, are now becoming pale as they dry.
