KP(top)I was surprised to see some Sandhill Cranes still hanging around today, given the stretches of cold and snow we've been experiencing. Apparently the snow doesn't deter spring fever. The males seem to be quite stroppy with one another and are beginning to dance their dance.

LM(bottom) Photographing in a wet snowstorm led to this pointillistic image. The details of the meadow and the background trees are softened, but the colours glow in the soft shadowless light.
