TREES WEEK #30

photograph by larry monczka
When I saw this group of dead cedars in a swamp, I was attracted to the arrangement of vertical trunks and curved horizontal branches. The background and surrounding area was a lively green, but the grey skeletal remains of the cedars suggested a more somber mood. By converting to monochrome and enhancing the sepulchral metaphor in post production, the final presentation represented both what I saw and how I felt about it.
