H/S WEEK #3

LM (left photograph) Late afternoon light edged the curving shoreline ice as an ominous bank of clouds moved in from the south. The play of cool and warm light is very characteristic of Long Point in winter. Foreground ice patterns echo cloud shapes and lead the eye into and through the picture space.
KP (right photograph) The star-shaped fractures in the forming cap of ice caught my attention. I decided to do a high-contrast monochromatic conversion to heighten the drama of the changing conditions.
