H/S WEEK #6

KP (upper photograph) Cold temperatures in New York this week made museums a welcome refuge. This photograph is a two dimensional abstract rendering of a portion of a three dimensional sculpture. This is an example of how the camera’s eye and the viewer’s eye can interpret visual information in differing ways.
LM (lower photograph) New York City is a high energy town. This abstract treatment reflects a New York state of mind both literally and figuratively. In composing this image, I photographed a small section of a neutral toned metal sculpture at the Met. I controlled the colours and patterns reflected by the piece by shifting my position relative to the various elements surrounding me.
