TIMES SQUARE IN A TUBA - NEW YORK CITY

photograph by kathleen pickard
A unlikely sequence of coincidences (too many to detail here) led to this image. We were just leaving Times Square when I heard a klezmer band approaching. As it turned out they were announcing the first ever Jewish wedding that was about to take place in the middle of the square. As the band passed, accompanied by a troop of wedding guests, the bell of the tuba captured the colour and razzle dazzle of Broadway.
