H/S WEEK #5

KP (left photo) Today numerous piles of wrack had accumulated on the beach after recent strong winds. I have found that I particularly enjoy the challenge of discovering compositional “order” within nature’s clutter and chaos. I feel that I’ve been successful if I can keep the viewers eye moving through the photograph, taking time to notice the details. When that happens the wrack can be appreciated as an intricate natural tapestry rather than a mere pile of junk.
LM (right photo) This week, when exiting the car at Long Point, I happened to glance at the wooden posts demarcating the parking area. The top of each post had weathered into a rich pattern of colours and textures. It was a visual gold mine that I had not discovered in all the years I had been parking there. This image is one of many I made that day. The takeaway for me can be summarized in the phrase:" Hidden in Plain Sight".
