Hurricane Sandy glanced by our neck of the woods this week. Strong winds and heavy rain stripped the Cottonwoods along the beach of their leaves overnight. The continuing unsettled weather flattened the sand and scattered the fallen leaves into orderly yet random patterns. I was drawn to the washed-out colour palette of the sand encrusted leaves.
