PINK HUT - INNER BAY, LONG POINT

photograph by kathleen pickard
The brutal winter weather in January created ideal conditions for ice fishing on Lake Erie, something that hasn't been happening often in recent years. A temporary village of home-made fishing hut sprung up, each hut seemingly displaying the owner's personality. Some of the huts were prim, painted carefully and decorated with hand sewn curtains. Others, like this one, were frowsily cobbled together with scavenged bits and pieces.
