LM (upper photograph) The day after a major wind storm, snow drifts had been bullied into fanciful shapes and were speckled with sand. The dun coloured snow seemed to have the faded delicacy of an old master etching. I used the trees to add visual tension to the otherwise sensuous silhouette of the wind blown landscape.
KP (lower photograph) The ice at the lake's was swept clean by a day of heavy winds, revealing intricate patterns. I converted to monochrome as I found tonal variations far more interesting than the colour.
