HE/SHE WEEK 46

LM (upper photograph) Walking in a mixed woods today, I noticed that the snow was littered with fallen pine needles and beech leaves. This early in winter, the fallen leaves are a copper/gold that are just starting to fade. In post production, I simplified the composition and background to achieve a graphic minimalism.
KP (lower photograph) Beech leaves persist when all others have long surrendered to winter. They glowed in today's fog, rain and overall murky atmospherics. More surprisingly the branches of the beech were glowing too, with a strange otherworldly blue, a phenomenon I'd never seen before.
